Signs Of The Times

Psalm 42:1
As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God. (NIV)
When was the last time that you were hungry? I mean really hungry. Many of us probably do not know what true hunger feels like. Unless you faced a situation where there was no food, you would not know what that feels like. This is especially true for us in the western countries today. For the most part, we have enough to eat and live.
When I look at the Body of Christ today, I see the same thing happening in the spiritual. We are not hungry anymore because we think we have everything. The church thinks it has things quite in order and things are going well, so why do we need more? We think we are full, but the truth is, we are not!
I can still remember the first time I got in contact with AMI. I was so hungry!  I was on fire for the Lord. Yes, I was young, innocent, foolish and naive. But you know what? I had a genuine hunger for the Lord Jesus. I wanted it all and when I had my fill, I wanted more!  I was like a dry sponge that soaked everything in!
I know that a lot of you can identify with this, otherwise you would not be with us right now. But what happened to this fire? To this hunger?
I want to give it to you straight and clear. The problem is that you got complacent. You reached a spiritual plateau and you never went further than this. You have your life pretty much in order and you know the bits and pieces of the power and blessing of the Lord. But let me tell you today, there is more to life than this! There is more and I know that you know it too! However, we need to hear the truth again and again in order to rise up into everything the Lord has for us.
The reality is: You will only get more if you want more!
In the verse above we see this deer. It is thirsty and pants for the water. It is about time that we thirst and pant again! We have lost this kind of zeal that says: "I need this! I want it! I've got to have it or I die!" When was the last time you said to the Lord: "Please give me this, or I  will die!"
You see, it is not just a simple desire: "Oh yeah, I think that might be a good idea, let's try it." It is not enough! In order to reach the next level, you need to thirst and hunger and really desire it!
The Lord delights in giving us more and He desires nothing more than seeing you rise up. However, you get this crazy idea that you should not desire and crave too much. That's nonsense! It is time to desire more! It is time you become like this deer again, who pants for the streams of water.
If you want to go to the next level, to have more and break out of your spiritual plateau, you need to pant and thirst and hunger again! I do not care about how far you already are in your spiritual walk and what fivefold ministry office(s) you hold. You will only get more if you pant for more!
The best way to do this is to get into the presence of the Lord. I suggest you do this right now. Go to Him and find your fire again! Praise the Lord and thank Him for everything He has done in your life and then let Him show you His purpose for you and He will ignite your fire again!
It is time that we break out of our complacency and go beyond what we have known until now!
I pray that you rise up into everything that the Lord has for you!
